My Ideal City - Daniela Fernández Cordero

People used to think that living in a country or city were just about having peaceful places, the level of industrialization and technological inventions, sources of employment, educative systems, etc; nevertheless, this thought has been changing because of their current mindset and also because people realized that each country has its own problems in some of these aspects. Nowadays, everybody´s opinion must be heard in order to improve their way of living. As the population increase, it becomes more difficult to focus on solving every single problem of each community; due to that, valuable ideas from young people are set apart from being exposed to the city, so they keep track and help to live in a place they like to.

My ideal city would offer the same facilities before mentioned, but adding the fact of abolishing outcast and bullying. Living in this city would imply having no worries if you want to express what you feel or think; expressing your thoughts and ideas would be as easy as raising a hand no matter your economical status, way of dressing, living or talking, you would have the freedom to express whatever you think and like. An additional aspect, it is not important if a person is not so sure about one idea, the more we try the more we get to the purpose.

Another significant aspect that was not previously mentioned is about the value of the nature, now we have to think in the future of our children, even if we considered it is an earlier decision; it is said that in a few years there will be no natural resources and I really opt for a country that cares about environment. This place has to have amazing and beautiful landscapes where you can perceive the fresh and clean air and some vast protected areas where you are will be able to enjoy the flora and fauna of the country. And of course, this is not a situation that has to be considered just by the city; citizens have to be worried about this problem too.

The last two characteristics of the city I would like to live in are related to the young people too; the first one would offers the greatest opportunities for them so that they could get an employment after finishing the education even if they have no experience and also they could have the alternative of choosing what they think it could be the most appreciated passion in their life (playing an instrument, be a dancer or singer, an actor, a soccer player, etc). And the second, it could incorporate a system that helps people to be healthier. It is important to understand that young people need funny moments, so they would have the chance to go out and forget about jobs, homework or responsibilities.

Thinking of the future has been one of the characteristics of human being through the ages and different societies. Becoming part of an ideal place is everybody's desire and in order to achieve it, you should start by the imagination first. The most important condition is to have a place where your opinion will be listened, you can cope with and have talks to resolve differences; finally it has to be a place where you can feel happy and you could fit in. Remember if you would like to have the “ideal city” you should be part of the project and try to do the best effort in order to get your dream city.
